It’s a well known fact that i am borderline pyschotic/schizophrenic/manic depressive (hmmm are those the same words or am i just using them for effect?). I have been through three weeks of boredom and depression. My friends had to call me up to check on me coz of the note i had left on my facebook profile. It was kind of them to check on me coz i was going out of my mind (actually they also wanted to check to make sure i hadn’t slit my wrists or something heheh. However it was really sweet of them to call me. ) My friend finally came back from his 3 week trip to pakistan. I can’t do a lot of stuff i used to do when he wasn’t around (use your imagination people).For some reason I didn’t feel like writing any new posts even though I had the material. I finally decided to march my ass to the library and post something new. It also gave me the opportunity to return some of the graphic novels and tom clancy books (the tom clancy books should be manuals for republican hawks in the army. i dont know why i even bothered reading them. ) It was quite funny hauling a big load of books all the way to the library (wearing a south park tee, shades, black jacket and jeans. I guess i am some sorta geek who likes to dress up. Hmm that’s a contradiction there. Geeks aren’t cool:D)

Anyway I am quite excited about several movies coming out later in the year. I can hardly wait for “southland tales” and “the air we breathe”.

Last week was boring but a bit busy coz my colleague at the shop decided to play hookey for three days. I had to cover his shift solo. It wasn’t an easy job as i have never worked on my own before. The only problems i had at work were with my boss who kept dropping in to check on me. I can’t understand why he doesn’t like to run his own little shop. He prefers to hang out with his lecherous taxidriver buddies and date gullible gals (that is what everyone says. its not hearsay). The shop hardly has any customers after 6 pm weekdays. Anyway I took the opportunity to read some books coz i had nothing else to do. Anyway my boss is a pain as he can’t do anything himself. He has the same name as my ex-friend and is as bad as him. I guess it’s a sign not to trust anyone with that name. He isn’t a bad person but then his mannerisms can be quite annoying. He makes greedy look like a good word. Infact he loves money so much he calls it lakshmi and he wears the same shirt everyday for like 3 weeks in a row. heheh. i hope he doesn’t find this blog or i am dead. anyway his wife is really nice and sweet so i guess this post is balanced now. oh yeah i forgot to give this bit an ending. anyway my colleague came back after my boss had to literally beg him to come back to work. i dont blame him for taking time off. we get paid around 2 quid an hour and we also have to clean the shop. the worst bit is that we are allowed like 1 meal per shift. i dont obey that rule at all as i like to eat as many items as i can. if i am being paid peanuts and being exploited then why cant i get my due share?

 Movies and Awards

My friend Sal and I love to argue over nothing. He always gets away with it because he doesn’t give anyone an opportunity to give an answer which ends up aggravating them. Anyway he thinks that Kajol is a better actress than Tabu. I wish I had not brought up “The Namesake” in front of him. According to him, kajol is a better actress because she has won popular awards. He wouldn’t listen to my argument that popular awards in India are more like the MTV awards in the USA. The National awards are a bit more respectable (and that’s because a jury selects the winners). However there have been some controversial wins over the year so i can’t say that these awards are fair. Kajol is a good actress but then she doesn’t have the same depth as Tabu who is really deep.Tabu is the queen of parallel cinema as she is a powerhouse. She was excellent in “the namesake” and was able to hold her own in “cheeni kum”. There aren’t many actresses who can outshine the Big B. Infact Tabu has been the only one besides Rani to outshine the Big B. Anyway a  movie doesn’t have to be a hit to win awards. A movie should be well made. There are so many movies out there which are critical favorites because of their offbeat themes,stories, etc. some of these movies dont have big budgets and marketing budgets. there are a lot of movies which are really good but dont get the attention they deserve. anyway all i can say is that people (i.e sal) who dont know anything about movies (for example he still hasn’t watched ocean’s eleven and that’s commercial) shouldn’t say anything. fine he hasn’t watched “run lola run” or any movie on my favorites list but then that doesn’t mean that his word is the final word.

oh yeah i just remembered one more thing. award ceremonies in india should be scrapped once and for all. amir khan should not be commended for his remake of “ghajni” (some south indian movie which itself was a remake of “memento”). i am pretty sure people will love “ghajni”. what they won’t know is that it is a rip-off. shame on u aamir.

 i heard that benny and coconut man (benazir and nawaz) are trying to make a comeback. benny has sold her soul to the devil yet again while cocoman has found a way to come back. now musshy is trying to make a deal with benny so he wont have to work with cocoman. i think this is too convenient. both benz and coco will end up fighting for power and take the spotlight away from musshy’s probz. i bet musshy is not gonna go away that easily. he is gonna make sure he gets his own puppet elected. i am pretty sure that (the powers that be or to be whatever) will give him the support to allow benny to be pm. i can bet that musshy will find a way to stop cocoman from doing anything. oh well that’s the state of affairs in our country. screw them all. what do u think doc? u would probably have a better explanation.
